At the NANOCON´23 conference, Dr. Martin Ledinský will present the invited lecture “Thin Films for Photovoltaics Under Zoom” in Session E.


Personal Background and Education:
Dr. Martin Ledinský received his M.S. degree in optics-optoelectronics at the Charles University Prague, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (Czech Republic) in 2003 and the Ph.D. degree in quantum optics-optoelectronics at the same faculty in 2009; his thesis: Opto-electronical and Structural Properties of Thin Silicon Films.  

Since 2001 he is a scientific researcher at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, CZ. He was a postdoctoral fellow (2013–2014) at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Neuchatel, Switzerland in the team of Prof. Christophe Ballif. Since 2017 he is the Leader of the Thin Films for Photovoltaic Application Group at the Institute of Physics CAS. He completed an internship at the KAUST Solar Center, Saudi Arabia led by Prof. Stefaan De Wolf (February–April 2018).

 

Research Interests:
The research interests of M. Ledinský are mainly focused on the structural and opto-electronical characterization of silicon and hybrid halide perovskites thin films by spectroscopic techniques (Raman, FTPS, PDS, PL) with a focus on defects’ states and their consequences for photovoltaic utilization. He is also involved in studies probing these materials by high-resolution imaging of electrical properties by AFM/SEM. He is the inventor of a method – Silicon Thin Film Profilometry Using Raman Spectroscopy (2016). This idea led to an international patent.

Currently, he is leading Czech participation in the EU Horizon Europe project PILATUS (2022–2025) focused on the development and demonstration of wafer, cell, and module pilot lines for the silicon heterojunction (SHJ) technology in the interdigitated back-contact (IBC) architecture with a minimum 150 MW of annual photovoltaic module production capacity.

Co-author of over 116 scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals that were cited more than 5.270 times, H-index: 29 (Google Scholar, Feb. 2023).
