At the NANOCON´23 conference Prof. Rajenahally will present the opening lecture “Catalysis for Sustainable and Circular Chemistry”.
Personal Background and Education:
Prof. Jagadeesh Rajenahally was born and raised in Karnataka, India. He obtained PhD (2006) in Chemistry from Bangalore University, India. From 2006 to 2008 he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Florida, USA. From 2009-2029 he was an Assistant Professor at VIT University, India. In 2010, he joined Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT), where he currently is a Group Leader. In Leibniz Institute for Catalysis, initially, he joined as a Scientist in the Department of Prof. Matthias Beller and then he became Group Leader first for ‘Synergy between Homogeneous and Heterogeneous Catalysis’ and then to the ‘‘Catalysis for Sustainable Syntheses’’ in the same institute (LIKAT).
Research interests:
The research group led by Prof. Rajenahally works on sustainable and circular chemistry. Specifically, his group works on catalysis for sustainable organic synthesis related to essential fine and bulk chemicals, life science molecules as well as the valorization of renewable feedstocks and recycling of waste-plastics. Author and co-author for >100 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
Important works of Rajenahally´s group are published in notable journals: 3 research papers in Science, around 10 research papers in Nature Publishing Journals and 2 research papers in Cell-Press Journals. Important work related to the development of Fe2O3-NPs for industrially important hydrogenation process has been highlighted and featured on the ‘Cover of Science’. In addition, key works are highlighted in Science, Nature, Chemical & Engineering News, Chemistry World, Science World and other international scientific news and portals.
