At the NANOCON´23 conference Dr. R. Boukherroub will present a plenary lecture: “Nanotechnological advances in diabetes management”.


Personal Background and Education:
Dr. Rabah Boukherroub received a Ph.D. in 1993 in organic and organometallic chemistry (highest distinction) from the University of Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France, Master's in organic chemistry (with honours) from the same university (1989). In 2002, he received his habilitation in the chemistry of materials from the University of Versailles, France.

He is currently a CNRS research director and a group leader at the Institute of Electronics, Microelectronics, and Nanotechnology (IEMN), University of Lille, France. He is Associate Editor for ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (since 06/2015). He is the co-founder of the biotechnology company BioNaMeris.


Research interests:
Research interests of R. Boukherroub are in the area of nanostructured functional materials, surface chemistry, and photophysics of semiconductor/metal nanostructures with an emphasis on biosensors, nanomedicine, photocatalysis, and energy-related applications. His main contributions are in the area of surface functionalization of various materials to design selective and sensitive sensors of biological molecules in complex media, design of targeted and controlled-release drug delivery systems.


Summary of publication activity:
Co-author of 700+ research publications (29 400 citations; H-index: 85 (Google Scholar, Feb. 2023)) and wrote 42 book chapters and co-editor of 10 books related to nanotechnology, materials chemistry, and biosensors.
